Independent conservation journalism that helps environmental nonprofits grow
Network for Ecology publishes original, solution-focused reporting on the people and organizations fighting to save the planet. We tell stories about coral reefs, rainforests, rivers, mangroves, wetlands, animal sanctuaries, indigenous stewardship, ecosystem recovery, biodiversity, and the frontline work happening right now to build a healthier planet.
What makes us different:
Most environmental journalism is either depressing (everything is dying) or corporate (sponsored content that looks like ads). We do neither.
We write independent conservation journalism that:
- Gives underreported environmental groups more visibility — we highlight nonprofits doing critical work that most people never see
- Helps them attract more supporters — our stories drive traffic, donations, and volunteers to their campaigns
- Helps them grow their campaigns — better storytelling means more momentum for their mission
How it works
We write the stories. Each article is a deep-dive into a specific nonprofit or conservation project. We use immersive, narrative-driven reporting to tell the story of what’s happening, why it matters, and how it could scale.
Sponsors support the work. Companies and individuals pay monthly retainers to sponsor our journalism. They get visibility and third-party credibility by being associated with independent conservation reporting. They do not control what we write.
Nonprofits gain supporters. A portion of sponsorship revenue goes toward promoting the articles we publish, so the nonprofits we feature gain more readers, donors, and volunteers.
Who we’re for
Readers: Environmentalists, conservationists, and anyone who wants to read journalism that shows real solutions—not just problems.
Nonprofits: Environmental organizations doing critical work that deserves more attention and support.
Sponsors: ESG consultancies, water-tech startups, climate-tech companies, impact investment funds, and mission-driven businesses that want to support conservation journalism while building credibility with their audience.
Our commitment
- Editorial independence: Sponsors do not control what we write. We choose every topic.
- Transparency: Every article is factual, sourced, and grounded in real reporting.
- Impact: We measure success by the visibility and support our featured nonprofits gain.
- Hope without hype: We write about solutions that are working, not false promises.
