Living Lands and Water is an organization that is dedicated to protecting and preserving the nation’s major rivers and their watersheds.
It is the only industrial strength river cleanup organization of its kind around the world.
Since 1998, they have worked on 25 rivers in 21 states, and with the help of more than 120,000 volunteers, have removed 12.9 million pounds of debris from U.S. waterways.
The Living Lands & Waters crew hosts multiple yearly river cleanups and also supports watershed conservation initiatives and educational workshops.
What They Do
Living Lands and Water spend up to 9 months per year while living and traveling on a barge ship cleaning up rivers in the United States.
The crew works to remove debris, trash and other pollutants from the rivers, and also undertakes other initiatives such as tree planting and educational programs.
The Living Lands & Waters’ crew hosts multiple yearly river cleanups, supports watershed conservation initiatives, a plethora workshops, tree plantings and other important conservation efforts.
Since it was founded, Living Lands & Waters has grown to become the only “industrial strength” river cleanup organization like it around the world.
